RADISH TOMATO CHUTNEY
This is a vegetable infused chutney which will make you more addictive. The flavor, texture and taste are all far beyond the imagination. Even kids would love it & they couldn’t identify that there’s radish in it. Radishes are very good for liver and stomach and it acts as a powerful detoxifier too. So it helps in weight loss and to rectify urinary disorders. It works as a good appetizer, mouth and breath freshener, laxative and metabolism regulator.This chutney can be taken with idli, dosa, upma, vada and patties. Best vegetable chutney ever.

- Radish /mullangi /mooli – 1 large size (both red & white can be used)
- onion – 1 large
- Tomato – 2 medium size
- Dry red chili -6 to 8
- Garlic -2 pods
- Black split urad dal – 1 tablespoon
- Tamarind , a pinch
- Salt to taste
- Mustard, urad & curry leaves for tempering
- Any vegetable oil -2 teaspoon
– Peel and cut the radish into thin slices or you can also grate it.Cube the onion and tomatoes.
-Heat a frying pan,add a teaspoon of oil and fry radish and garlic together for 3 to 4 minutes until it changes its color slightly. Stir continuously. Let it cool.
-In the same pan add urad dal, onion, red chili and fry them until it’s done. Let it cool. Now add tomatoes and fry it, until it’s mushy.
-In a blender/mixer add all the fried ingredients , salt and tamarind and grind it into a fine paste.
-Tempering is very important in chutneys which adds a good aroma to it. Serve it with idli/dosa with a teaspoon of sesame oil on top. It’s delicious !!
