MELON AND SAGO SEEDS DESSERT
This is a delicious dessert and pretty sure, a crowd pleaser with simple ingredients & no flavorings. This is a Chinese dessert with coconut milk. I’m pretty sure this is going to be a great hit among your family and friends.
💫Honey dew melon – 1 cup cubed
💫Tapioca /sago seeds -2 tablespoons
💫sugar (white) – 3 to 4 tablespoons
💫coconut milk , thick – 1/2 cup
Cut the honey dew melon into 1/2 inch cubes. Soak the tapioca seeds in hot water for almost half an hour. Prepare coconut milk by adding one cup of fresh grated coconut in a mixer with Luke warm water & squeeze the juice. Or else use canned coconut milk or mix 4 tablespoons of coconut milk powder in 1/2 cup of luke warm water.
In a cooking pot boil one cup of water and add the melon cubes. After 4 or 5 mins, once the melon is half cooked add the soaked tapioca seeds and allow it to boil for another 5 minutes or until the sago seeds became transparent. Now add the sugar . Let them dissolve completely. Then add the coconut milk and once it’s started boiling then switch off the flame. It’s all done.
A very simple , delicious and flavourful fruit infused dessert is on your menu now. I prefer serving cold. So refrigerate it for minimum an hour before serving. It might tend to be thicker after cooling so accordingly adjust the water while cooking itself.
